Musicians On The Record with Rick Drumm

Rick Drumm, is a drummer, and 33-year veteran of the music products industry. He is the Founder and President of Traction Business Coaching. Rick’s outstanding career accomplishments include being President of D’Addario & Company; President of Vic Firth Inc.; CEO of Midco International; and Director of Sales and Marketing for Remo, Inc.

Throughout his extensive music business career, as well as being a senior manager, Rick has been involved in product development, artist relations and music education.  He also studied drums with drumming legends, Ed Shaughnessy, (drummer for the Tonight Show) and Sonny Igoe, (CBS staff musician for the Ed Sullivan and Jackie Gleason shows).

Rick served in the U.S. Air Force NORAD band and performed with Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus, and numerous shows and jazz musicians globally.  In 2011, he released his first album, Rick Drumm & Fatty Necroses to international critical acclaim.

Rick is also an integral member of TheSessions.org, an organization that helps musicians develop a foundation for a successful career in the entertainment business, addressing topics such as contract negotiations, entertainment law, marketing, self-promotion, image maintenance and artist relations, with a focus on the academic and real-world practical advice.
